Allied Characters

>> Major General Johnathon 'Jack' O'Neill  *RETIRED*

General O'Neill's assignment at the SGC is to defend Earth from possible hostile invasion, and to explore new worlds and return new technologies to Earth for study and further development. He received previous special training in covert operations/infiltration, special weapons and tactics, demolition, chemical weapons, and is a field expedience specialist.

>> Major General Hank Landry

The commander of the SGC is Maj. Gen. Hank Landry, a straight talking and to-the-point military leader. Landry took over the position from Jack O'Neill, arounf the time that SG-1 disbanded.  General Landry is impressed with how efficient the SGC is and how everyone is good at their jobs -- something he almost regrets because he likes yelling at the officers who report to him.

>> Lieutenant Colonel Samantha Carter

Lt Col. Carter's assignment is to ascertain possible hostile threats, to continue analysis of Stargate technology, and to analyse and return materials, technologies and knowledge for further development. She previously served as a flight officer in the Kuwait theatre, and has received special training in F-117/F16. She holds a Ph.D. in Quantum Mechanics and is a plasma/particle physics expert.

>> Dr Daniel Jackson

Enrolled on the very first mission in the Stargate movie, Dr Jackson's role was to decipher the meaning of the gate and as such the seventh symbol needed to make the device work.

Dr. Jackson joined the SG-1 Team on a voluntary basis to study the cultures of other planets. He holds a Ph.D. in Anthropology as well as a Ph.D. in Linguistics, and has prior experience with the culture of Abydos.

>> Jonas Quinn

A human from Kelowna, on the planet Langara, Jonas Quinn replaced Daniel Jackson on SG-1 for a year. Capable of quickly absorbing volumes of information, Jonas was a rather unlikely candidate for Jackson's replacement after his tragic 'death'. His stood idly by as Jackson gave his life to save Kelowna from disaster, initially putting him on bad terms with the then Colonel Jack O'Neill.

>> Colonel Cameron Mitchell

Col Cameron Mitchell is the commanding officer of SG-1, following the promotion of Jack O'Neill to Major General and the disbanding of the original SG-1 team. Mitchell is a daring fighter pilot who led an F-302 squadron in the battle with Anubis' forces over Antartica.

>> Teal'c

Teal'c is a member of the Jaffa race, of the home planet Chulak. Similar to humans in overall appearance, Jaffas have an "X" shaped incision or marsupial pouch in the abdomen. Teal'c had served as the First Prime of the Goa'uld Apophis, but after aiding the SG-1 Team during their first mission to Chulak, he returned to Earth as a voluntary member of the SG-1 Team.

>> Lieutenant General George Hammond

As the Commanding Officer of the Research and Defense Unit, General Hammond's standing orders are to analyse the threat potential of alien races, defend Earth from possible hostile invasion, and to analyse and recover technologies for study and further development. He received decorations for meritorious service in the Kuwait theatre and in Vietnam. Unique and previous service include serving with the Project Bluebook Re-Evaluation, and as Commanding Officer of the Groom Lake Operations Facility.

>> Dr Janet Fraiser *DECEASED*

Doctor Janet Fraiser first appeared in the Season One episode The Broca Divide and later became a regular character in the SGC. She is Chief Medical Officer and is an expert in exotic diseases. She has a close rappor with SG-1 and is always on hand to help the team out of their latest medical emergency.

>> Master Bra'tac

Bra'tac lives on Chulak, the homeworld of Apophis' Jaffa recruits. Like his student Teal'c, he believes that the Goa'uld are false gods, and actively assists SG-1 on matters related to Apophis and Teal'c's family. He is also a leader of the Jaffa Resistance, a movement bent on freeing all Jaffa from Goa'uld enslavement. Since barely surviving a Goa'uld attack on the Resistance and losing his larval Goa'uld symbiote, Bra'tac relies on regular doses of the symbiote-derived drug tretonin to live.

>> Jacob Carter/Selmak

Father of Samantha and Mark Carter, Jacob was a longtime member of the Air Force, retiring as a two-star general. Jacob soon learned that he was afflicted with lymphoma, a rare form of cancer. Unable to ebb the attack raging within his body, Jacob accepted an offer from General Hammond and Samantha to live by becoming host to a member of the Tok'ra, the Goa'uld resistance movement with whom Earth is allied.

A Tok'ra symbiote once blended with the Tok'ra host Saroosh, Selmak chose to blend with Jacob Carter to save both of their lives. Selmak is said to be good company with a wonderful sense of humor. He is among the oldest and wisest in the Tok'ra ranks, and maintains strict loyalty to their cause: the total destruction of the Goa'uld.

>> Martouf/Lantash *DECEASED*

A leader in the ranks of the Tok'ra, Martouf (host to the symbiote Lantash) was the mate of Rosha (host to Jolinar). They spent over 100 years together. He was devastated when she was captured by Sokar and sent to his prison moon of Ne'tu. When she finally escaped and returned, she refused to tell him how she escaped.

Lantash was very passionate in his ideas, often to the point of anger. He possessed a great love for Samantha Carter, who had been the last host of Jolinar before she died. Over time, he came to love her as much as he had loved Jolinar.

>> Anise/Freya

Anise is a scientist, an archaeologist and a member of the Tok'ra -- the Goa'uld resistence movement. She is a driven, self-motivated and beautiful woman; her name means "noble strength." Her host's name is Freya. Like most Tok'ra hosts, she is softer and more compassionate than her symbiote, and open with her feelings.

Freya is attracted to Colonel Jack O'Neill, and once tried to seduce him -- explaining that the people of her world do not share the same inhibitions as the people of Earth.Freya is more sympathetic and relatable than her stern, scientist symbiote. She enjoys the tactile sensation of writing in a physical journal -- rather unusual for the technologically advanced Tok'ra.

Enemy Characters

>> Apophis *DECEASED*

An evil Goa'uld System Lord, once SG-1's arch enemy. He is the brother and mortal enemy of Ra, the sun god. In ancient Egyptian mythology, Apophis is the serpent, the god of the night and of death, and is in constant struggle with the god of the day.

>> Amaunet *DECEASED*

Apophis's beloved Goa'uld queen. Amonet possesses the body of Daniel Jackson's wife, Sha're. Jackson and SG-1 searched the galaxy for Sha're for more than two and a half years before she was killed. Teal'c was forced to fire his staff weapon at her, because Amonet was about to kill Jackson

>> Heru'ur *DECEASED*

A powerful Goa'uld System Lord, Heru'ur is the offspring of Ra and Hathor. Until his death at the hands of Apophis, the cunning and self-righteous Heru'ur commanded one of the Goa'uld's largest fleets. He is known also as Horus the Elder, and his Jaffa guards are called "horus guards" (beaked creatures like those who once served his father, Ra).

>> Sokar *DECEASED*

A Goa'uld who was outcast by the System Lords, Sokar was one of the most powerful of the Goa'uld, and chose to take on the persona of the Devil. He has posed as the god of death on many different worlds. On our own, this took the form of the Judeo-Christian fallen angel Satan. It is said that thousands of years ago, when the Goa'uld occupied Earth, Sokar's host body was that of an Unas.

>> Cronus *DECEASED*

A powerful Goa'uld System Lord. Historically, he probably posed as a Greek god on Earth, one of twelve Titans who ascended to supreme domination. Cronus became father to Zeus, Hera, Posiedon and Hades (which may indicate that Cronus is the father of Sokar, a powerful Goa'uld whom he and the System Lords banished).

>> Ba'al

A powerful System Lord, Baal is not generally a fair player when dealing with his fellow Goa'uld. He once wiped out 60 million people in two star systems rather than lose them to Sokar during a territorial dispute. If he feels that he has been treated negligently, he has been known to give concealed explosives as gifts.

>> Anubis

Once a powerful Goa'uld System Lord, Anubis was banished by the others because his actions were deemed unspeakable, even amongst the Goa'uld. He was believed destroyed, but managed to escape and learn the secrets of ascension. But the Ancients did not want the Goa'uld to join them on a higher plane of existence, and tried to force him to descend. They were only partially successful, and Abubis became trapped between the two planes of existence.
